iTam Invitational Sportsfest 2025: Embracing the Spirit to Run, Jump, and Play, but Never Sin

On August 16, 2025, the 14th iTam Invitational Sportsfest officially commenced as student athletes across participating schools gathered at the gymnasium of Far Eastern University Institute of Technology. Among the participants were the student athletes of Don Bosco Manila, who eagerly represented the school as they proudly walked during the parade, showcasing their athleticism while carrying the identity of Bosconians. As colors and distinctive cheers filled the room, this event officially marked the beginning of a journey rooted in friendly competition and camaraderie.
After the initial parade, the program began with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. This was followed by the opening remarks of Mr. Marlon Maglipas, Director of Student Activities and Development, whose message officially set the tone for the upcoming iTam Sportsfest. The crowd was then treated to a lively dance performance that energized the atmosphere and brought excitement to everyone present. Following the performance, the spotlight shifted to the parade of muses and escorts representing the different participating schools. Each pair showcased their school colors with pride and confidence, drawing cheers and applause from the audience. The segment highlighted not only the festive spirit of the event but also the unity and camaraderie among the schools as they prepared to compete in the days ahead.
Adding prestige to the opening day were former players from FEU who once proudly carried the Green and Gold, returning to the court as living reminders of the school’s rich athletic tradition. Leading the charge was Sheila Mae Kiseo, the ever-reliable outside hitter whose power and consistency once fueled FEU’s volleyball campaigns. At the net, Jefferson Abuniawan stood tall with his quick attacks and imposing blocks, while Sean Padon orchestrated plays with sharp vision and fearless decision-making. Their presence bridged past and present, showing how the iTam Invitational is not only about competition but also about celebrating legacy. Today, these alumni continue to raise the FEU banner in the professional scene with Kiseo playing for PLDT in the PVL, Abuniawan competing with Alpha Insurance in Spikers’ Turf, and Padon steering the Philippine Navy Sea Lions with his steady hands and leadership.
As the 14th iTam Invitational Sportsfest carries forward, it not only aims to recognize those who excel in their respective sports; instead, it celebrates the dedication of every athlete, fosters lasting connections, and instills values that will stay with them for years to come. In the heart of true sportsmanship, the student-athletes of Don Bosco Manila were once again reminded to carry with them the spirit of Don Bosco’s teachings, β€œRun, Jump, and Play, but Never Sin.”
