On September 2, 2025, the section of Grade 1 Blessed Ceferino Namuncura celebrated the feast day of their class patron blessed in the sacred grounds of the school Chapel. In order to commemorate the impactful life of their blessed, the grade 1 students started their day with a special prayer dedicated to him, a simple yet heartfelt offering. They ended their presentation with a graceful performance of dance and prayer to the melody of “Seek ye first”, a song based on Matthew 6:33 written by Karen Lafferty.
Born on August 26, 1886, Ceferino Namuncura lived a life of faith, hope and unity as the sixth child of a respected leader in Argentina. Despite growing up in a time of poverty and loss, he longed to help his people through knowledge and Christian values resulting in his father proudly sending him to study with the Salesians of Don Bosco to fulfill his dream of becoming a priest. He died due to his fragile health yet he remained honored for his life of deep devotion and faith to the Lord.
“Lily of Patagonia” a title Ceferino is deeply remembered for as his resilience and purity continue to inspire plenty of young people. He serves as a spiritual bridge and guide not only to those who lived by his side, but also to those who heard his story—and hopefully to you.
Happy Feast day Grade 1 Blessed Ceferino Namuncura! May the chronicle of Ceferino’s life continue to serve as an inspiration to others, encouraging them to be as resilient and faithful as you.
