Every great story begins with a spark of faith—and ours was lit over 153 years ago. On August 5, we celebrate Institute Day, the birth of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), founded in 1872 by St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello with the guidance of St. John Bosco. But this day isn’t just a history lesson, it’s a living reminder of a mission still burning bright.

For the Salesian Sisters, Institute Day is a homecoming of the heart: a time to renew their vows, return to the joy and vision of their founders, and draw fresh strength to serve the young, especially those most in need. For us Bosconians, it’s a chance to look back with gratitude—and forward with purpose.

We Bosconians, express heartfelt gratitude to the FMA Sisters for bringing the Salesian spirituality and education to the Philippines and establishing Don Bosco School Manila in 1989. Through their dedication and the Preventive System of education, they have formed countless young people to be not only academically competent but also spiritually grounded and socially responsible. 

Their tireless service, inspired by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello guided by Mary Help of Christians, continues to shape lives with compassion, faith, and joy—truly embodying their mission to guide the youth toward becoming good Christians and upright citizens. Truly, our school stands as a living legacy of faith—a legacy we proudly carry into the future.
