CORE VALUES

Character formation is only possible when there is convergence of values taught at home and in the school.

For this reason, parents are encouraged to be witnesses to their children of the following core values of DBS:

Be Christ- Centered and devoted to Mama Mary
Be faithfully committed to each other
Have a sincere sense of responsibility towards family
Devote quality time with the family
Have consistent moral integrity
Be compassionate with the weak and the lowly
Have the humility to accept the strengths and weaknesses of their children and to discipline them in a firm but loving way
Ensure open communication with their children at all times
Bring the whole family to Mass every Sunday and observe all important Church feasts and teachings

Model love for learning and the use of sound judgment and good morals in dealing with the day-to-day demands of life
Encourage initiative and independence in the children
Enforce home rules and routines that will be beneficial to the formation and learning of the children at home
Listen to and be sensitive to their children’s needs and interests, but be open and critical in minimizing the negative impacts of technology and social media when the children are overly exposed to them

Be models of self- discipline and fidelity in carrying out one’s duties and responsibilities at home, in the church and in society.
Teach children the value of involvement in worthy causes and endeavours, especially those that favour the least, the weak and the marginalized.
